🚫 FAKE NEWS ALERT: Federal Ministry of Education Denies Nationwide School Closure Rumour


The Federal Ministry of Education has issued an urgent public disclaimer regarding a false message currently circulating across various social media platforms and messaging groups, claiming that all schools in Nigeria will be shut down starting from 25th November 2025.


In an official statement released today, the Ministry described the message as completely baseless and misleading urging parents, students, teachers, and the general public to disregard the information in its entirety.There is no directive from the Federal Government or the Ministry authorizing the closure of schools nationwide.


> “We wish to categorically state that the viral message is fake. No such decision has been made, and the Ministry has not issued any circular or announcement concerning a nationwide school shutdown,” the statement reads.


The Ministry also warned against the spread of fake news, noting the negative impact misinformation can have on public trust, academic activities, and national stability. It advised all stakeholders in the education sector to *rely only on verified government platforms and official news outlets* for authentic updates.

Furthermore, schools at all levels—federal, state, and private—are to continue academic activities as scheduled, unless instructed otherwise by competent authorities.
