The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has once again demonstrated its commitment to transparency and accountability by remitting a total of ₦1.5 billion to the Federal Government of Nigeria from proceeds generated during the ongoing UTME registration exercise.

The remittance highlights the board’s consistent effort in ensuring that revenues generated from examination activities are properly accounted for and returned to the government in line with financial regulations. Over the years, JAMB has transformed its operations through improved technology, tighter monitoring systems, and reforms that have significantly increased efficiency in the registration and examination process.

The funds generated from UTME registrations by millions of candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across the country continue to contribute meaningfully to national revenue.

Education stakeholders have praised the examination body for maintaining a high level of financial discipline while still delivering one of the largest examination exercises in Africa. Many believe that such transparency strengthens public trust in the institution and reinforces the importance of accountability in government agencies.

As the 2026 UTME registration continues nationwide, candidates are advised to complete their registration early and ensure all required documents and information are correctly submitted to avoid last-minute complications.

The development further reflects JAMB’s evolving reputation as one of the most financially responsible and technologically advanced examination bodies in Nigeria.
