Crescent University has officially announced the appointment of Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti as its new Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council.
The announcement was made by the Proprietor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prince Ma'ruf Adesegun Ajibola, during the institution’s 20th Founder’s Day celebration. The event also featured a series of activities, including the recognition of ninety-four staff members with long service awards.
According to Prince Ajibola, the appointment of Rafiu Ebiti marks a new phase in the university’s leadership, as he assumes the role of Chairman of the Governing Council for the next dispensation.
Describing him as a strong advocate of academic and moral excellence, Ajibola highlighted Ebiti’s outstanding contributions to education and society. A seasoned accountant, industrialist, and philanthropist, Ebiti is the founder of the Ibeji Foundation, an initiative that has supported many brilliant but financially disadvantaged students with scholarships across both public and private universities, including Crescent University.
Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti is also an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University and a distinguished fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
Before this new appointment, he served as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Summit University. His longstanding support for Crescent University since its inception further underscores his commitment to the institution’s growth and development.
