JAMB Delists 23 CBT Centres, Warns 88 Over Poor Performance Ahead of 2026 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has taken decisive action by delisting 23 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria due to technical deficiencies observed during the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
According to a statement released by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the affected centres failed to meet the operational and technical standards required for conducting credible examinations.
The mock examination, held on March 28, 2026, was designed not only to prepare candidates for the main UTME but also to assess the readiness and performance of CBT centres nationwide. Following a thorough internal review, JAMB identified several centres that fell short of expectations.
The delisted centres are spread across multiple states including Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Some notable centres affected include:
DE-LITE CBT Centre, Maitama, Abuja
The Oracle Lens, Nnokwa, Anambra State
SAF Polytechnic, Iseyin, Oyo State
Greenhills Academy, Itele Road
In addition to the delisting, JAMB also issued warnings to 88 other centres that recorded minor technical issues, giving them an opportunity to improve before the main examination.
Furthermore, HA-SHEM Academy located in Yaba, Lagos, has been completely barred from participating in any future JAMB examinations.
JAMB emphasized that the mock UTME remains a critical tool in maintaining the integrity and credibility of its examination process. The Board reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that only fully equipped and compliant centres are allowed to conduct the main UTME.
📌 What This Means for Candidates
Candidates are advised to stay calm and regularly check for updates regarding their examination centres. Those previously assigned to affected centres will be reassigned to approved locations before the main UTME.
📢 Final Note
JAMB’s latest move highlights its strict stance on quality control and its determination to deliver a smooth, fair, and transparent examination process for all candidates in the 2026 UTME.
