LASUSTECH Announces 2026/2027 State of Origin Verification Exercise for Lagos Indigenes
The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has officially announced the commencement of its 2026/2027 State of Origin Verification Exercise (SOVE) for candidates who are indigenes of Lagos State and selected the institution as their first choice during the 2026 UTME registration.
According to the information released by the institution, all Lagos State indigene candidates who scored a minimum of 195 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as well as Direct Entry applicants, are eligible to participate in the verification exercise ahead of the admission process.
The registration exercise is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, 20th May, 2026 and will close on Friday, 12th June, 2026, while the verification interview is expected to hold from Wednesday, 17th June to Friday, 19th June, 2026. Candidates are advised to note that their individual interview dates will be clearly stated on their application forms.
LASUSTECH further emphasized that the State of Origin Verification Exercise does not automatically guarantee admission into the university. Rather, it is a mandatory screening process for candidates claiming Lagos State indigene status before they can proceed with the Post-UTME application.
Applicants are expected to carefully follow the registration guidelines and ensure that payments are made only through the officially approved channel provided by the institution. The university also warned candidates against dealing with unauthorized individuals or third parties, stressing that any payment made outside the approved platform will be at the candidate’s own risk.
The institution reiterated that only candidates of Lagos State origin are qualified for the SOVE screening exercise and must be successfully cleared by the State of Origin Verification Committee before continuing with the admission screening process.
Prospective candidates are therefore encouraged to complete their registration early, prepare all necessary documents, and stay updated with official information from the university to avoid missing important deadlines.
Candidates who scored 195 and above and meet the indigene requirement should take advantage of this opportunity and begin preparations immediately for a successful admission process into LASUSTECH for the 2026/2027 academic session.
