OLABISI ONABANJO UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES EID AL-ADHA PUBLIC HOLIDAYS FOR STAFF AND STUDENTS


The management of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, has announced a temporary closure of the institution in observance of the 2026 Eid al-Adha celebration.


According to an official statement released by the university’s Corporate Affairs Division, the Federal Government has declared Wednesday, 27th May and Thursday, 28th May 2026 as public holidays to mark the Eid al-Adha (Eid el-Kabir) celebration.


Following this development, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ayodeji Agboola, congratulated members of the university community, especially Muslim faithful, for witnessing this year’s celebration. He also encouraged everyone to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, faithfulness, perseverance, and kindness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).


The university management further directed that academic and administrative activities be temporarily suspended during the holiday period. However, staff on essential duties are expected to remain at their duty posts.


Normal activities are scheduled to resume on Friday, 29th May 2026 by 8:00 a.m.


Students and staff are advised to take note of the announcement and comply accordingly.
