*WAEC INTRODUCES NEW METHOD FOR ACCESSING 2026 WASSCE RESULT CHECKER PINS*
*The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Nigeria, has officially announced a major change in the method candidates will use to access their 2026 WASSCE Result Checker PINs.*
According to an official notice released on 25th May, 2026, the traditional WAEC smart card previously used for checking results will no longer be issued for the 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates.
END OF WAEC SMART CARD SYSTEM
For many years, candidates relied on WAEC smart cards containing:
• Result Checker PINs
• Serial Numbers
to access their results online after release.
WAEC has now discontinued this system for the 2026 examination cycle as part of its technological reforms and modernization process.
*INTRODUCTION OF BIOMETRIC ATTENDANCE SYSTEM*
WAEC revealed that the change is connected to the introduction of a new Biometric Attendance System.
✅ The biometric system is designed to:
• Improve candidate verification
• Reduce examination malpractice
• Strengthen examination security
• Enhance the integrity of the examination process
The Council stated that the innovation will help create a more reliable and efficient examination environment nationwide.
*HOW CANDIDATES WILL ACCESS RESULT CHECKER PINS*
Instead of using physical smart cards, candidates will now retrieve their Result Checker PINs online through the official WAEC portal.
To access the PIN, candidates will be required to provide their examination details on the designated platform.
